Maternity benefits for FOPs are social benefits provided to female entrepreneurs during pregnancy, childbirth, or parental leave. These benefits are guaranteed by the Ukrainian Law “On Mandatory State Social Insurance” and are administered by the Social Insurance Fund (FSS) based on the contributions you have made to the Unified Social Contribution.
Who is eligible for maternity benefits for FOP?
Entrepreneurs who are FOPs under the simplified tax system and who contribute to the Social Insurance Fund are entitled to maternity benefits. It is important that, at the time of submitting the application for benefits, you have paid USC and met the requirements regarding your work experience and medical certificates.
Conditions for receiving benefits:
- You must voluntarily pay USC if you are not on the general tax system.
- You must be officially registered as an FOP engaged in business activity.
- You must have a medical certificate confirming pregnancy and childbirth (sick leave certificate).
How does the maternity benefits process work?
The process can be a real challenge for an entrepreneur: you need to gather a lot of documents – a sick leave certificate, the FOP declaration, numerous medical certificates. This bureaucratic maze often distracts you from the most important thing – preparing for the birth of your baby. It takes a lot of time and energy, and navigating through the process on your own is not always easy.
