In recent years, millions of Ukrainians have been forced to change their lives – move from their hometowns, leave their jobs, and start from scratch. For entrepreneurs, this meant not only a new reality but also new administrative tasks: changing the registration address, updating data in the tax office, and reconfiguring bank accounts.

At Finevolution, we encounter these stories daily, not just as tax advisors but as individuals dedicated to helping others. Every request reflects a unique, real-life story.

We moved to Lviv after the start of the full-scale war because it became unsafe to work in our hometown of Kharkiv. I continued to consult clients online, but I needed to change my FOP address, and I was afraid of making a mistake. Finevolution took care of everything – I just kept working without being distracted by formalities.

When should you change your FOP address?

Changing an address is not just a formality. It is about:

  • Safety: you moved from a dangerous region and want all documents to arrive at your new residence.
  • Relevance: your registration address has changed, and the data in the registry must be updated.
  • Logistics: if you work with documents, orders, or services, it is important that all information matches.

Remember: the tax office, bank, and clients all rely on the address listed in your extract from the Unified State Register (EDR). Outdated data can lead to fines, misunderstandings, and delays. Also, if an FOP is registered in a non-controlled territory of Ukraine, international transfers may be blocked.

You can change your FOP address through a state registrar (offline) or via the Diia portal – if you remain within the same city or district.

But even a simple action can have consequences if you:
  • change the region, your tax office changes automatically;
  • do not update your data in banks as service may be suspended;
  • miss the deadline and you may get a fine or extra attention from the authorities.

Main steps to change your FOP address

  1. Prepare the new address – it must match your registered place of residence.
  2. Submit an application to change your data through a state registrar or online.
  3. Wait for the information to be updated in the Unified State Register (EDR).
  4. If needed, update your data with the tax office and banks.

What documents does an FOP need to update after changing address?

Changing your address requires updating several documents:
  • Extract from the EDR – it must show the new address.
  • Bank data – if you have an active FOP account, inform the bank about the new address.
  • Single tax extract – especially if your territorial tax office has changed.

It is also recommended to update your address in contracts with clients and partners, as well as on online platforms and marketplaces.
